It is important to note that upon first use, you may notice a slight smell and light smoke. This is due to a protective coating used during the manufacturing process. Conducting a proper burn-in cycle, preferably outdoors, for 15 minutes will help eliminate the residue from the coating.

The temperature light of the hot plate will cycle on and off periodically to automatically maintain the desired temperature. This does not indicate a defect in the product.
